Basement Windows

Windows can make your basement appear more pleasing and boost safety. Large basement windows, sometimes called "egress windows," from Pella of Mankato are created to let more light into underground spaces than the older, smaller, rectangular windows that sit above ground. They also provide a way out in case of an emergency.

The biggest differentiator between basement, or egress, windows and standard windows is that basement windows must be big enough for an average-sized person to get out in order to meet safety requirements set forth in building codes. You can select from properly sized casement, sliding or double-hung windows when you install basement windows. Make sure you totally understand local building codes before you purchase basement windows.
